Avanti Service Lift Incident

Description:
While ascending TUK 203 at Te Uku Wind Farm, a work party consisting of two experienced technicians noticed the lift was making a strange noise. They were approximately two thirds of the way up from the second tower section, approximately 60m from the ground.
They immediately stopped and vacated the lift to inspect the issue. On inspection, they found that the safety brake wire had become caught around one of the guide wire support brackets, preventing the lift from ascending.
