Asbestos Management

StayLive acknowledges that asbestos poses a serious risk in our workplaces. The risks of asbestos are often misunderstood as are the best ways to manage them. Consequently, controls may be ineffective or disproportionate for the risks. By working together, our goal is to establish the right way to manage asbestos risks in our industry.

Overview

StayLive recognise that there are different approaches and methods across the New Zealand Generators with regards to managing the risks of asbestos. We have identified this risk area as an opportunity to learn from each other, and to standardise the management of asbestos risks across the industry.

The Asbestos Working Group have developed key resources to enable the industry to benchmark against, in order to meet a common agreed standard in line with the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos Regulations) 2016.
